Born in Ararat, Victoria, James Osborne McDonald was a single 23 year old motor driver at the time of his enlistment in Nyngan, New South Wales on the 26th of August 1918.
It is unknown when James embarked and disembarked at Australia. He was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period, approximately around the 31st of December 1918.
