Biography

Eric McLeod Williamson was a single 23 year old labourer born in Ballarat. He enlisted on the 26th of August 1914.His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board Transport A24 Benalla on the 19th of October 1914. On the 14th of May 1915 he was wounded in action with a gunshot wound to his arm. He re-joined his battalion on the 25th of July 1915. Eric returned to Australia on the 23rd of December 1918 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 21st of February 1919.
