Francis Dysart Lever was born in Ballarat but enlisted from Horsham on 2nd February 1915, where he worked as a gardener. He was 23 years old and single. He was drafted to the 22nd Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 188. He was severely wounded during the fighting at Pozieres, and died on 28th July 1916. He is buried in Warloy-Baillon Cemetery, France.
