Gustav Stelling (SN 1960) was born in Ballarat but was educated in Melbourne and was a process engraver in Essendon when he enlisted on June 17th 1915. He was 19 years old and single when he was posted to the 22nd Infantry Battalion. He embarked from Melbourne in August bound for Gallipoli. On October 29th 1915 he was killed in action in the Hill 60 area, and is buried in Shrapnel Valley Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
