Henry Hall (SN 2048) born at Port Albert Victoria, was a married 43 year old railway employee when he enlisted in Ballarat on February 5th 1915. Assigned to the 14th Infantry Battalion, he embarked aboard the Hororata on April 17th. He saw action at Gallipoli until illness forced his evacuation. Back in Egypt he was transferred to the 4th Pioneer Battalion and moved to France in June 1916. His service was frequently interrupted by illness, and he was returned to Australia aboard the Ayrshire and was discharged ‘medically unfit’ on November 5th 1917.
