Biography

William Herbert McTaggart was a single, 22 year old carter at the time of his enlistment in his birth town of Ballarat on the 19th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT RMS Osterley on the 29th of September 1915.
On the 4th of September 1918, William was appointed Driver.
He returned to Australia on the 30th of May 1919, and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 22nd of July 1919.
