John Clark (SN 11682) born in Ballarat, was a 24 year old motor driver when he enlisted in Ballarat on April 7th 1916. He embarked aboard the Afric on June 5th and in November he was deployed to France with the 3rd Division Supply Column as a driver. In July 1917 he was evacuated to England after accidentally fracturing his ankle while repairing a vehicle. He returned to France in January 1918 to see out the war. He returned to Australia aboard the Suevic, disembarked at Melbourne on September 10th 1919 and was discharged on October 25th.
