Biography

Frank Leslie Jurey (SN Depot) was born in Ballarat and enlisted in Footscray on July 3rd 1916. He was 28 years old, married and employed as a carpenter's labourer. He was allocated as a reinforcement to the 5th infantry Battalion, but fell ill before he was given a Regimental Number. He was admitted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne where he died of epidemic cerebro-spinal meningitis on July 20th 1916. He is buried in the Footscray Cemetery.
