Peter James Beaton, Ballarat-born Gardener, enlisted as a Private on 5th of November 1917 as a 37 year old with the 45th Battalion. On the 28th February 1918 Private Beaton embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Nestor. He returned to Australia on the 22nd of October 1919.
