William Culliney Colbourne (SN 7321) born at Ballarat, was a married 45 year old miner when he enlisted in Ballarat on February 23rd 1917. He was training with the Mining Corps, allocated to a Tunnelling Company, when his movement was restricted by a problem with his left foot. A Medical assessment deemed him unfit for active service due to varicose veins, and he was discharged medically unfit at Seymour on June 21st 1917. His service totalled 119 days but as he did not leave Australia he was ineligible for any medals.
