Biography

William Michael Joseph Walsh was an 18 year old wool presser when he enlisted as a Private on May 18th 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on May 27th 1916. On April 20th 1918 he was wounded in action with a gunshot wound to his right lung. He returned to Australia on August 1st 1918 and was discharged on August 17th 1918 as medically unfit.
