Biography

Harry Holmes from Ascot, Victoria was a single farmer who enlisted on July 17th 1915 at the age of 18. He was listed as a driver for Infantry Brigade Train 8 which embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT A41 Bakara on November 5th 1915. He was listed as being a driver for the 18th Company, Australian Army Service Corps on November 8th 1918, and then promoted to Lance Corporal on the 18th company the next day on November 9th 1918. Harry returned to Australia on 8 May 1919 and was discharged on the 15th of August 1919 due to termination of period of enlistment.
