James Henry Deutchman enlisted in South Melbourne at the age of 24 on the 19th of February 1915. He had been born in Ararat, was single, and was employed as a Labourer. He volunteered and was stationed with the 23rd Battalion, Headquarters with the Regimental Number 14. He transferred to the 14th Light Horse Regiment, he was discharged and returned to Australia on the 24th of July 1919. Tree No. 410.
