Leslie James Morrison was born in Ballarat and enlisted there on 17th March 1915. He was 19 years old, single and worked as an engineer's assistant. He was drafted to the 24th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 228. During his service he was promoted Corporal. He was killed in the front line trenches in the Amiens area on 3rd August 1918, and is buried in the Viller-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, France.
