James Herbert Evans was born in Ballarat, Victoria was single and was employed as a Baker. He enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 23. He volunteered and was stationed with the 24th Battalion, C Company later transferring to the 2nd Field Bakery with the Regimental number 618. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 9th of September 1919. Tree number 432.
