Biography

James Arthur Geddes was born in Scarsdale. He was 34 years old, married, and worked as a builder in Ballarat. On 27th March 1915 he enlisted and was posted to the 24th Infantry Battalion, with the Regimental No. 789. During his service he was promoted to Corporal. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 20th September 1915. His name is recorded on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli.
