William Emmerson was born in Harrow, Victoria was single and was employed as an Engine Driver. He enlisted in Birchip, Victoria at the age of 30. He volunteered and was stationed with the 21st Battalion, B Company with the Regimental number 378. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 10th of June 1916. Tree number 446.
