Biography

Arthur Westray Toop (SN 1964) was born in Ballarat and attended the Wendouree State School. He enlisted in Brisbane on July 20th 1915 as a 22 year old carpenter and joiner. He joined the 2nd Field Company Engineers and embarked from Sydney in mid-October, aboard the Port Lincoln bound for Egypt.

He contracted typhoid and on November 21st 1915 he died and is buried in the Suez War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
