Biography

William John Cockerall enlisted in the 8th Infantry Battalion on the 4th January 1915. He was Regimental No. 1719. He had been born in Ballarat East, and was 21 years of Age, unmarried and a coach painter when he joined. He was killed in action in Gallipoli on 6th August 1915. He is buried in Shrapnel Gully Cemetery on Gallipoli.
