Biography

John Low Taylor (SN 1563) was born in Ballarat East and attended Humffray Street State School. He was 38 years old, married to Emily and working as a carter and driver when he enlisted on April 15th 1915. He was posted to the 24th Infantry Battalion and embarked from Melbourne in late June, on board the Ceramic, bound for Gallipoli. He was killed in action at on November 29th 1915 and was buried in the Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
