Biography

Ebenezer Jones (SN 3324) born at Walhalla, was a 30 year old hairdresser when he enlisted at Melbourne on March 15th 1915. He embarked on June 4th, assigned to the 6th Field Ambulance, and came ashore at Gallipoli on August 30th. In October he was evacuated to hospital at Malta, suffering from influenza. He then served in France and avoided battle wounds but at different times suffered tonsilitis, bronchitis and diphtheria. He returned to Australia aboard the City of York, disembarked at Melbourne on February 27th 1919 and was discharged on April 21st.
