Joseph Edward Lee enlisted in Ballarat at the age of 23 on the 24th of August 1914. He had been born in Pimpinio, Victoria, was single, and was employed as an Engineer. He volunteered and was stationed with the 60th Infantry Battalion with the Regimental Number 94. He was Killed in Action on the 19th of July 1916 at Fromelles, France. He has no known grave but he is commemorated at the V.C Corner (Panel 19), Australian Cemetery Memorial , Fromelles, France. Tree numner 517.
