Biography

Anthony Simpson Gilpin was born in Ballarat, but enlisted from Broken Hill NSW, on 22nd August 1914. He was 24, unmarried and an ironmonger. He joined the 1oth Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 461. During his service he was promoted to Sergeant. He was killed in action at Gallipoli during the Landing. His name is on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli.
