Biography

David Fisher (SN 620) was born in Windermere and was a 26 year old, single grocer when he enlisted on August 27th 1914, from Morphettville, SA . He embarked on the Ascanius in October, posted to the 10th Infantry Battalion and took part in the Gallipoli landing. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on August 9th 1915, has no known grave but his name is on the Australian Memorial at Lone Pine, Gallipoli.
