Edward Stanley Walker (Capt.) born in Ballarat, was a 28 year old agent in civilian life. He had a background of military service when he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the A.I.F. on August 30th 1915. He embarked aboard the Bakara on November 9th and served with the 31st Infantry Battalion and the 5th Division Ammunition Column before he was transferred to the Australian Flying Corps in July 1918 at the rank of Flying Officer. His distinguished service in that role earned for him the Air Force Cross. He returned to Australia aboard the Anchises, disembarked at Melbourne on April 17th 1919 and his appointment was terminated on June 16th. He also enlisted to serve during WW2 with service number V58541.
