Stanley West Roots was born in Hawthorn, Victoria, was single and was employed as a Fitter and Turner. He enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 23. He volunteered and was stationed with the 4th Australian Medical Corps with the Regimental number 2065. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 12th of May 1918. Tree number 547.
