Biography

Born in Ballarat, Henry Roy Harris was a single 19 year old ironmoulder at the time of his enlistment on the 2nd of November 1914. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A51 Chilka on the 2nd of February 1915.
On the 24th of January 1917, Henry was taken on strength with the 14th Field Artillery Brigade.
On August 20th 1918, he was wounded in action with multiple gunshot wounds. Henry was invalided to England on the 27th of August 1918 and returned to Australia on the 29th of January 1919. He was discharged as medically unfit on the 30th of March 1919.
