Biography

George Joseph Basil Quarrell (SN 1054) was a 19 year old carter, born in Ballarat, when he enlisted on March 4th 1915. He was posted to the 23rd Infantry Battalion and embarked from Melbourne in May on board the Euripides, bound for Gallipoli. . He was killed in action on November 29th 1915 near Lone Pine and is buried in the Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
