Biography

Ernest Morrison (SN 2009) was born in Ballarat, and on January 11th 1915 enlisted in the 1st AIF. He was 27 years old, single and a miner. He was drafted to the 6th Infantry Battalion and embarked in April, reaching Gallipoli just ahead of the August Offensive. After Gallipoli he was transferred to the 59th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action in the fighting at Amiens on the August 8th 1918, has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Australian Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
