William Henry Watson (SN 1206) born at Ballarat, was a 21 year old engine cleaner when he enlisted at Oaklands in South Australia on January 19th 1915. As a reinforcement for the 3rd Light Horse Regiment, he embarked from Adelaide aboard the Kanowna on June 24th. On arrival in Egypt, he was found to be medically unfit for active service due to neurasthenia. He was returned to Australia on the Kanowna, disembarked on November 22nd and was discharged on March 24th 1916.
