Thomas John Flanagan was born in Smeaton, Victoria was single and was employed as a Labourer. He enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 37. He volunteered and was stationed with the 13th Light Horse Regiment, B Squadron with the Regimental number 201. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 31st of October 1915.
