Stanley George Lugg (SN 127) born at Ballarat, was a 19 year old draper’s assistant when he enlisted at Ballarat in April 1915 . He trained with the Australian Medical Corps before embarking aboard the Wandilla on June 25th. He reached the battlefields of France in April 1916 to serve with the 5th Field Ambulance. During his service he had some minor health and discipline issues. On one occasion he was charged with leaving a café without paying for a meal he had eaten. He returned to Australia as a member of the nursing staff aboard the Orca, disembarked at Melbourne on April 7th 1919 and was discharged on June 6th.
