Biography

Allen Bertram Farrer (SN 2136) was born in Ballarat East on 5th March 1915. He was 26 years old, single and a labourer. He was allotted as a reinforcement for the 7th Infantry Battalion ahead of the Gallipoli August offensive. He was killed in the fierce fighting at Lone Pine on 8th August 1915 but has no known grave. He is remembered on the Australian National memorial at Lone Pine.

Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Farrar.
