Biography

Paul Greig Dane (Maj.) was a married 34 year old medical practitioner when he was commissioned on March 26th 1915. He embarked aboard the Ajana on June 4th and in late August he reached Gallipoli attached to the 6th Field Ambulance. Poor health caused his evacuation after two months and his time was then both service and treatment in Egypt and England. He was assessed as unfit for active service due to chronic dysentery and rheumatism and was returned to Australia aboard the Karoola, disembarked at Melbourne on August 2nd 1916 and his commission was terminated on August 30th.
