Biography

Harold William Treloar was born in Prahran, Victoria, was single and a Fitter and turner when he enlisted with the March 1917 Reinforcements on 22 January 1917 as a 2nd Air Mechanic. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A74 Marathon on 10 May 1917. On 1 August 1917 he was hospitalised for illness at Wendover, re-joining his unit three weeks later. Other than this his records show he completed his tour without major incident, illness or injury, returning to Australia aboard the Kaiser in Hind on 6 may 1919.
