Biography

James William Meehan was a single 18 year old painter at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat on the 30th of April 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A64 Demosthenes on the 16th of July 1915.
On the 4th of November 1916, James was shot in his buttock. He rejoined his battalion on the 22nd of February 1917. He was wounded on a second occasion on the 2nd of April 1918, but rejoined his battalion on the 15th of April.
James was discharged on the 6th of July 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
