Biography

Gordon Beith was born in Ballarat and was a Clerk by trade when he enlisted in the 24th Battalion, C Company as a Lieutenant on 1 May 1915 at the age of 21. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 10 May 1915. He was wounded in action at Gallipoli in November 1915, his knee wound so serious that his left leg was amputated above the knee. He returned to Australia 12 April 1916

His brother, Duncan Beith (Tree No 454) also served.
