Born in Jerusalem, Palestine, Samuel Grimblat was a single 22 year old cabinetmaker at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat on the 10th of May 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A67 Orsova on the 17th of July 1915.
He was discharged on the 9th of February 1917.
