Andrew Ward, born in Brisbane, QLD, enlisted in the 8th Infantry Battalion on 11 September 1916, arriving in Plymouth from the 'Kyarrh' on 31 January 1917 before proceeding to France on 8 April 1917. He was admitted to hospital after being wounded in action, having suffered a gunshot wound to the hand.
He re-joined the Battalion from wounded on 14 February 1918. He received his final discharge on 25 September 1919.
