Biography

David John Tait was born in Invermay and was working as a packer when he enlisted in Ballarat North on 8th June 1915. He was single and 19 years old. He was posted to the 22nd Infantry Battalion , with Regimental No. 1972. On 5th August 1916 he was killed in action at Pozieres. His name is on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
