Biography

David John Tait (SN 1972) was born in Invermay and attended the Invermay State School. He was 19, working as a packer when he enlisted on June 8th 1915. He was posted to the 22nd Infantry Battalion and embarked in late August on board the Anchises, arriving in France in March 1916. On August 5th 1916 he was killed in action at Pozieres. He has no known grave and his name is on the Australian Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
