Edward McGrath was a labourer living in Ballarat when he enlisted on 8th June 1915. He was 24 and single, and had been born in Ballarat. He was drafted to the 8th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 2631. On 24th August 1918 he died of wounds received during the fighting at Chuignes, and is buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery, France.
