Ernest Hugh Duncan (SN 15227) born in Ballarat, was a 19 year old school teacher when he enlisted in Ballarat on June 15th 1915. He embarked aboard the Karoola on August 19th. In Egypt he further trained with the Medical Corps and was attached to serve at the 14th Australian General Hospital. At war’s end he returned to Australia aboard the Delta, disembarked at Melbourne on September 3rd 1919 and was discharged on October 18th.
