Biography

George Timms was born in Ballarat East, Victoria, was married to Elizabeth Maud Timms of 12 Magpie Street, Ballarat East, Victoria and was a Painter when he enlisted with the 24th Battalion, 3rd Reinforcement on 21 June 1915 at the age of 41. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A68 Anchises on 26 August 1915. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed as suffering from rheumatism and returned to Australia aboard the Hospital Transport Pakhea on 22 October 1917, receiving his final medical discharge on 56 December 1917.
