Biography

Edward James O'Riley was born in Ararat, but enlisted in Ballarat on 18th August 1914. He was a painter, and was aged 20, and still single. He joined the 8th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 197. He was killed in the Landing at Anzac Cove, and his name is on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
