Percy Krausgrill (SN 2848), born in Ballarat, was an 18 year old labourer when he enlisted on June 29th 1915. Attached to the 7th Battalion, he served in Gallipoli for the final two weeks of that campaign before returning to Egypt. In February 1916 he was transferred to the newly formed 58th Battalion with which he moved to France in June 1916. His service from then on was marked by minor discipline breaches and extended periods in hospital due to illness. In August 1919 he disembarked back in Melbourne and was discharged on October 9th 1919.
