Biography

Born in Ballarat, John McFadyen was a single 21 year old painter at the time of his enlistment on the 10th of July in his hometown of Ballarat. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 Nestor on the 11th of October 1915.
On the 3rd of October 1918, John was appointed Lance Corporal.
He returned to Australia on the 2nd of July 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 25th of August 1919.
