Biography

Eryx Gabriel Incledon (SN 35) had attended the Macarthur Street State School and was a 21 year old saddler when he enlisted on August 18th 1914. He was allocated to the 8th Infantry Battalion and sailed from Australia in October on board the Benalla. After further training in Egypt he took part in the Gallipoli landing on April 25th 1915. He was wounded at Krithia in May, then after the Gallipoli campaign he was promoted to Sergeant and transferred to the 60th Infantry Battalion for service in France. He was killed at Fromelles on July 19th 1916 but has no known grave and his name is listed on the VC Corner, Australian Cemetery Memorial, Fromelles, France.
