Biography

Francis (Frank) Frederick Fiscalini (SN 1266) born in Ballarat, was a 21 year old motor driver when he enlisted in Melbourne on July 3rd 1915. He embarked aboard the Ballarat on September 9th. He served in the Middle East with the 3rd then the 8th Light Horse Regiments, with a short-term placement with the Royal Flying Corps. He avoided battle wounds but was twice injured by horses in 1917, kicked in the abdomen and crushed. He returned to Australia aboard the Essex, disembarked at Melbourne on July 25th 1919and was discharged on September 23rd. He also enlisted to serve during WW2 with service number V145647.

Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Frank Fiscalini.
