Biography

Herbert Leslie Pascoe was born in Ballarat and was a Farmer by trade when he enlisted in the 14th Battalion, 12th Reinforcement on 5 July 1915 at the age of 22. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A40 Ceramic on 23 November 1915 and served predominantly with the 2nd Field Artillery Battery attached to the 46th Battalion. It seems that he was lucky enough to serve through the war without significant illness or injury. He returned to Australia in May 1919 aboard the Devanha.
