Born in Clunes, Victoria, Ernest Alfred Henderson was a single 19 year old mechanic at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat on the 5th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A23 Suffolk on the 1st of April 1916.
Ernest was discharged as medically unfit on the 4th of September 1919.
